ABOUT

Sant Bellatrix came into existence in the midst of several chaotic storms, one of which being COVID-19 and the other being my own healing and long term treatment for Lyme disease. Shortly after beginning a long and exhausting treatment journey that made it hard to get out of bed, I was also faced with the reality that COVID-19 had made it to my front door in Brooklyn, New York and I would be quarantining for an indefinite amount of time. I found that working at my own pace to create pieces of jewelry that I love to wear using crystals that I find beautiful and healing was something that was accessible for me throughout my treatment process.

The term Sant Bellatrix is the feminine form of the latin term bellator which means warrior. I chose this name to honor the strength and resilience of women. I must also include and credit the brilliant women designers that have inspired my work, Tina Chow as well as Kazuko Oshima.

This collection of jewelry is a project that truly stems from my desire to create within my means and make something that is enjoyable to make as well as to wear.
